This charity began the day one survivor realized no one should carry the hardest parts of the fight against cancer alone.
Banish Cancer was born in the dark. Founded in 2021 by Stage IVA/G3 cancer survivor Nerijus Kaziela, the organization was forged after he endured 35 radiotherapy sessions and 11 chemotherapy cycles in a single stretch. When treatment ended, a sudden COVID‑19 infection forced him into absolute isolation, and in those moments a harsh truth emerged: healing is not just physical—it is deeply emotional. The hardest battles always came at night, when the fear grew louder, the pain sharpened, and the house went impossibly silent. Nerijus created Banish Cancer so no one has to face those terrifying, silent nights alone. What began as one survivor’s journey has evolved into a global, online life raft providing verified oncology education, emotional strength, and practical coping tools.

Fear Response AI: An empathetic digital presence shaped by survivor experience, providing dedicated night support the exact moment fear spikes and the world goes quiet.

All Banish Cancer educational systems are built upon a strict, survivor-led research workflow. Nerijus Kaziela leverages his experience as a Stage IVA/G3 survivor to serve as Lead Fact-Checker, building a reliable bridge between complex clinical data and patient comprehension.
Banish Cancer is a registered charity and Public Benefit Organization (PBO) in Lithuania (Registration Number: 305706884). While our legal headquarters are in Kaunas, our operations are fully online, allowing us to support cancer patients and families globally in both English and Lithuanian.
This status authorizes us to receive tax-free sponsorship and donations worldwide to fulfill our charitable purposes.
